Let everyday physics and chemistry surprise and entertain you.

Fascinating activities, hands-on exhibits and entertaining presentations showcasing math, science and engineering add up to a day of fun and learning.

At the fair -

  • future astronauts can ride a hovercraft
  • future doctors and their families can hold a real human brain and explore how the brain works
  • future conservationsists can learn how they can start saving the planet now by reducing energy use by experimenting with light bulbs
  • future artists can learn the importance of geometry as they create origami
  • future chemists will get to mix up chemicals and create compounds that they can take home
  • future engineers will learn about everthing from making robots to miniature cars in order to learn the skills that will lead them to be the leaders in future technological advancements.

The fun fair provides a hands-on math and science experience and gives young people a chance to see the excitement that a career in science, engineering or mathematics provides.

 

This event is presented by the University of Minnesota’s - Institute of Technology Center for Educational Programs, Department of Chemistry, Physics Force, Bell Museum, Department of Neuroscience, Minnesota Space Grant Consortium, Society of Women Engineers, St. Anthony Falls Laboratory/National Center for Earth-surface Dynamics, and the Women in Science and Engineering student group.

Corporate exhibitors include: 3M, B*E*S*T Outreach, Center for Energy and Environment, and IBM.

Parking is available at the East River Parkway Garage for $6.00 for the entire day.
