  • The University of Minnesota Talented Youth Mathematics Program (UM-t-ump) is a highly selective and competitive program at the University of Minnesota.
  • It accelerates students through high school mathematics in a highly supportive environment, and provides them with numerous options for later educational opportunities.
  • It is an alternative to mathematics in the student's school.
  • The 2-year high school component covers Algebra I/II, Geometry and Math Analysis for high school credit.
  • The 3-year calculus component covers honors-level college calculus for high school and college credit.
  • Each of the five years of UMTYMP is a 35-week sequence held September to May.
  • UMTYMP students are self-disciplined, highly motivated, very talented mathematics students in grades 6-12 who are willing to work hard.
  • UMTYMP classes are held in St. Cloud, Rochester and Minneapolis.
